My name is Maureen, and I thank you for visiting me here! I just discovered that I can have a blog with my site (better late than never). Very briefly, I worked as a professor in Health Education/Public Health for almost 20 years total. However, especially after the death of my husband Mark in 2020, I needed to change my life. I moved from Indiana to the Orlando, Florida area, and I love it!

During the tax season, I started working as a Tax Preparer (which I've enjoyed). However, because I have an autism spectrum disorder (with severe sensitivity to light and sound), I can't drive during thunderstorms. I love Florida, but frequent thunderstorms are guaranteed. So, it's ideal for me to be able to work from home. But the primary reason I started an Etsy shop called Tropical Hedgehog in May 2025 is that creating and selling gifts with my designs requires me to be both creative and analytical. The products on my Tropical Hedgehog site (which is what you're currently visiting) are the same as the ones listed in my Etsy shop. I hope you enjoy them, and I appreciate your visiting the site!
